Today at EC's Tupper Field, the Gull shut out the Bears from Bridgewater State College, 3-0. This victory marks the Gulls' sixth consecutive win and second consecutive shut out. Today's win improves EC's overall record to 9-4, while the Bears drop to an overall record of 1-8.
Senior forward Jen McCormack scored Endicott's first goal 15 minutes and 21 seconds into the first half. The play developed from an all around offensive effort when Caitlin Murray blasted a shot from the top of the circle. The initial shot from Murray was deflected by senior forward Kim Doody to junior midfielder Ashley Wallace. It was Wallace who then found McCormack open off the left post to finish the play. Wallace and McCormack connected again with two minutes left in the first half. Again Wallace found McCormack off the left post to capitalize on an offensive penalty corner and put EC up 2-0 at the half.
Going into the second half, the Gulls never looked back. EC continued to pour their offensive pressure onto the Bears, out shooting them 13-1 in the second half. Just 4 minutes and 37 seconds into the half, EC scored their third and final goal. It was Kim Doody who found the back of the net on another pass from Ashley Wallace. Wallace tallied all three assists for the Gulls today.
Today's shut out is the second consecutive shut out for EC's goalkeeper Erin Curry and her fifth shut out of the season.
Endicott now hits the road for the next three games. On Thursday October 14th, EC will face American International College in Springfield, MA for a non-conference match up against the Yellow Jackets.
