BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott football continued their unbeaten season after a 24-17 win over Salve Regina at Endicott Stadium this past Saturday and for his efforts on the defensive side of the ball, senior defensive end and captain Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week and to Beyond Sports Network's Division III Defensive Athletes of the Week list.

The D3Football.com Team of the Week recognizes the top player at each position across the entire Division III list of games each week.  This marks the second time in his collegiate career that Eagan has been placed on the D3Football Team of the Week as he was honored back on November of 2009 after a 27-15 Gulls win over MIT.  Eagan had six tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery for a touchdown in that game.  BSN hands out weekly honors to players across all divisions and levels on offense, defense and special teams.

Eagan was already named to the NEFC Honor Roll for his performance against the Seahawks as the senior totaled 13 tackles, including six solo takedowns.  He made 4.0 tackles for a loss with three sacks that went for a loss of 15 yards.  His first sack of the day in the first quarter caused a fumble that was recovered by the Gulls on Seahawks six-yard line.  Endicott went on to score on a one-yard touchdown pass to the end zone, Phil Konopka (Shelton, Mass.) to Taylor Allen (Westford, Mass.).

With his performance against Salve, Eagan became Endicott’s leading tackler on the season with 26, 11 of which are solo.

Eagan and the Gulls will be on the road this weekend against NEFC Boyd Division rival Curry down in Milton for a 7:00 pm game on Saturday.
