NCAA TOURNAMENT: No. 4/8 Endicott Bests Middlebury, 6-1

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — The No. 4/8 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated Middlebury, 6-1, in the NCAA Tournament — Bridgewater Regional on Saturday morning at Alumni Park.

SV (1): Jordan Gottesman (Acton, Mass.) — 4 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K

The Gulls pounced for three runs in the first inning and let the combo of Cannata and Gottesman lead them the rest of the way to the victory.

Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) opened the scoring with an RBI double to right field.

Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) followed with a fielder's choice RBI, before he purposely got caught in a rundown later in the frame allowing Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) to score from third on the backend of the play to make it 3-0.

From there, Endicott scored solo tallies in the third, fourth, and sixth innings — highlighted by a run-producing single from TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) and a sac fly via John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) in the last two frames mentioned.
