Cross Country Teams Show Well at ECAC's; Prep for NCAA DIII Regionals Saturday

ECAC MEN'S RESULTS

WESTFIELD, Mass.- With the CCC Championships behind them and the NCAA DIII New England Regionals on the horizon next weekend, the Endicott cross country teams competed in the ECAC DIII Championships on Saturday.  The women were led by Jocelyn Kane's (East Longmeadow, Mass.) 25:30.71 in the 5k race while Alex Walecka's (North Dartmouth, Mass.) 29:36.97 8k time paced the men.  Both team's now take the week to prepare for the NCAA DIII New England Regionals that will be hosted Saturday in Williamstown, Mass.

Kane was followed by Allyson Burgess (Lowell, Mass.) who finished with a time of 29:07.42 over the 5k race.  Ashley Ferreri (Southbury, Conn.) and Kristie Kaminski (Rocky Hill, Conn.) rounded out the Endicott group as they finished in times of 29:30.35 and 31:04.59, respectively.

For the men, Walecka finished just in front of Donovan Shea (Brunswick, Maine) who completed the 8k course in a time of 29:44.87.  Shea was followed by fellow freshman Joshua Weinmann (Laconia, N.H.) who finished in 30:21.31, while William Noftle (Tewksbury, Mass.) and  Dylan Schaefer (Glastonbury, Conn.) rounded out the scoring for the Gulls.  Noftle completed the course in a time of 36:58.77 as Schaefer was just behind, closing in a time of 37:57.50.

Both team's now take the week to prepare for the NCAA DIII New England Regionals that will be hosted Saturday in Williamstown, Mass.  The race will be held at the Mount Greylock High School.
