Endicott Sweeps Salve Regina 3-0

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Endicott women's volleyball team took to the road on Wednesday night to take on Salve Regina, and returned home with a 3-0 sweep.

The Gulls took a tightly contested first set by a 25-21 before cruising to a 25-11 win in the second. Another close contest would see Endicott pull out a 25-23 set to complete the sweep.

Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Alex Dippel (Fallston, Md.) were the top two kill leaders in the match, finishing with 11 and 10, respectively. Mancini also chipped in 11 digs for her third double-double of the season. Setter Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) also posted a double-double by picking up 35 assists and 10 digs. 

Leading all players with 15 digs was junior libero Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.), while defensive specialist Nichole Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) contributed 10 of her own.

Opposite Remi Quesnelle (Sunderland, Mass.) led all players with a .462 average by racking up seven kills on 13 swings while also grabbing seven digs. Middle Nicole Winkler (Southborough, Mass.) finished with five kills on eight swings, to go along with a match-high four aces.

BEYOND THE BOX

  • Endicott held a 10-2 advantage in aces and a 62-54 edge in digs
  • Endicott is now 21-4 all-time against Salve Regina, including a current six match win streak that has seen the Gulls sweep the last four.

Endicott travels to Amherst, Mass. to take on a pair of NESCAC foes in Amherst and Wesleyan on Saturday at 1 PM.
