CCC WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman distance runner Aleah MacKay (Bedford, N.H.) and the Gulls' 4x400-meter relay team have both earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly honors, as announced by the league earlier today. MacKay was named the CCC Track Rookie of the Week, while the quartet of Sierra Villemaire (Richmond, Vt.), Olivia Folkes (Amston, Conn.), Amanda Recupero (Ipswich, Mass.) and Julia Jankowski (Methuen, Mass.) claimed CCC Relay Team of the Week honors.

In the first-ever meet Endicott in program history at Tufts last week, MacKay highlighted the Gulls' efforts as the freshman distance runner qualified for both the New England Division III and All-New England Championships with a time of 40:11.88 in the 10,000-meter run (11th place overall/18 runners). Her time easily surpassed the N.E. D3 qualifying standard of 41:20.00 and also eclipsed the All-New England's standard of 40:24.24. MacKay's time also sits at No. 42 on the NCAA Division III national qualifying list and No. 10 in the region.

Additionally, MacKay bested several other student-athletes in the race from well-established Division III New England programs including conference foe Salve Regina (40:13.79), WPI, Westfield State, Keene State, and Connecticut College.

Meanwhile, the 4x400-meter relay team of Villemaire, Folkes, Recupero, and Jankowski registered a combined time of 4:28.20 for an eighth place finish in the event.
