Sept. 14, 2003

Beverly, MA -- The Endicott women's soccer team defeated Rhode Island College by a score of 4-0. Junior forward Leah Walters lead the Endicott attack by assisting two goals and netting one for herself. Finding senior co-captain, Kate Healey, Walters assisted her first goal of the game in the 23rd minute. Healey's far post goal gave Endicott the 1-0 lead. In the 33rd minute, Walters assisted her second goal when she found Stacey Lubas making a run to goal, and as a result, Endicott took a 2-0 advantage before half.

Endicott took a 3-0 lead in the 49th minute when Walters finally had a goal of her own. Senior co-captain Dana Schutz passed the ball to Walters, shooting inside the 18 yard box, and finding the back of the net.

As a direct result of a foul in the box, senior co-captain Jessica Scholz would cap the score at 4-0 in the 59th minute, by finishing a penalty kick.

Starting goalkeeper Sarah Nichols shared the shutout with freshman goalkeeper Tina Loguidice, who made her first collegiate appearance. Endicott resumes play at home on Wednesday September 17th when they face conference member, Colby-Sawyer.
