DeShaw and Neff garner TCCC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards

Springfield, Mass. - Juniors Morgan DeShaw (Danville, N.H.) and Leah Neff (South Berwick, Maine) were awarded Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week status by the TCCC for their efforts over the past week.

The Gulls (7-3, 6-0 TCCC) went 3-0 over the past week with conference wins over Colby-Sawyer and Curry as well as a non-conference triumph over NEWMAC foe Wellesley.

Attacker Morgan DeShaw paced the Endicott offense with 16 points on 14 goals and two assists including a standout seven-goal effort in a 12-8 Gulls win over Wellesley.  DeShaw netted four herself and assisted on two more against Colby-Sawyer before adding three goals in a win over previously unbeaten Curry.  She also tallied four groundballs, two caused turnovers, a draw control and converted 8-of-12 free position shot attempts into goals in those three games.

Between the pipes, Neff enjoyed a 3-0 week with a goals against average of 9.20.  In 150 minutes of play, Neff limited her opponents to 23 goals in 58 shots faced  while making 24 saves on the week.  Neff's biggest effort came against TCCC rival Curry as the junior stopped 10 shots to hand the Colonels their first loss of the season. 

DeShaw, Neff and the rest of the Gulls women's lacrosse team return to the field on Thursday, April 6th for a road game against TCCC opponent University of New England starting at 7:00 pm in Biddeford, Maine.
