BEVERLY, Mass. – \#Ashley Wright\# (Merrimack, N.H.) scored 18 points and added a game-high six steals as Endicott College cruised past Gordon College, 80-53, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon in Beverly, Mass. The Gulls improve to 13-5 overall and 6-1 in the TCCC while the Fighting Scots dip below .500 at 9-10 overall and 2-5 in conference games.

Endicott grabbed a quick 9-0 lead in the first 2:45 of action on an \#Ashley Vitale\# (Wilmington, Mass.) layup and would never trail in the game. Gordon would cut the lead down to two, 21-19, as Kim Levinsky (West Caldwell, N.J.) buried one of her game-high eight three pointers made in the contest. Eventually, Endicott would regain control of the action with 6:49 to play as Wright stole the ball at half court and went coast-to-coast for an eight point lead that the Gulls would not relinquish for the rest of the half.

In the opening frame, the Gulls dominated every statistical category including points in the paint (22-4), points off turnovers (15-7) and fast break points (6-0). Gordon’s Levinsky led all scorers at the half with 11 points while Endicott was led by 10 points apiece from Wright and \#Ceciley Chisholm\# (Lexington, Mass.).

Coming out of the break, the Gulls used a 24-8 run to build their lead to 59-35 and never looked back. The Fighting Scots would get as close as 17 before the Blue and Green pulled away and built a 30 point lead en route to winning an important TCCC game, 80-53.

Endicott recorded 22 assists on 34 field goals while committing only nine turnovers. The Blue and Green held the rebounding edge, 42-31, while causing 23 turnovers and grabbing 16 steals while scoring 30 points off the Gordon missteps. EC outscored the Fighting Scots 52-8 in the paint while the Endicott bench outscored Gordon’s, 24-0.

\#Ashley Wright\# scored a team-high 18 points while adding six steals and four rebounds. \#Ceciley Chisholm\# and Ashley Vitale each added 16 points while the duo added six and seven rebounds, respectively. \#Kaylin Burke\# (Leominster, Mass.) had an all-around game scoring four points, adding five rebounds and handing out seven assists.

Gordon was led by Kim Levinsky’s 26 points as the senior guard connected on eight three-pointers. Rebecca Carroll (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) also chipped in with 15 points while Heather DeKleine (Wayland, Mich.) struggled from the field (2-of-15) but scored six points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out six assists.

The Blue and Green look to make it six-straight wins when they return to action on Wednesday night as Endicott will host Colby-Sawyer at 5:00 p.m. in Beverly, Mass. Gordon hosts Regis College on Wednesday as well in a game at 6:00 p.m.
