Gulls Earn Reserve Champion Honors At Home Show

EAST KINGSTON, N.H. — The Endicott equestrian team claimed Reserve Champion (second place) honors out of 11 programs at the Gulls' Home Show on Saturday at Turning Point Show Stables.

Endicott took home four individual first place finishes, highlighted by novice flat riders Anna Berd (Hubbardston, Mass.), Emily Toupin (Oakham, Mass.), and Shaina Zaslow (Lexington, Mass.) winning three out of the four classes held in the discipline.

"Our riders have been working really hard and today it showed! They worked for hours yesterday preparing the barn and ring for our home show, getting horses and tack ready, and setting and cleaning the entire jump course," said Endicott equestrian head coach Megan Martin. "They've also been putting in the hours in the tack, and today we won four of our 13 classes! We are ready for the doubleheader next weekend to close out our fall season!"

OTHER SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • Isabelle Wulff (New London, N.H.) ranked first in limit over fences.
  • Sophia Channell (Vergennes, Vt.) was second in intermediate over fences and fifth in limit flat.
  • Irina Canute (Sudbury, Mass.) placed second in over fences.
  • Helen Barrow (Swanton, Vt.) finished third in open flat and open fences.
  • Hope Forcellina (South Windsor, Conn.) produced a third place finish in intermediate flat.
  • Lindsey Nygren (Gorham, Maine) came in fourth place in introductory. 
  • Amanda Blanco (Fairfield, Conn.) and Sydney Putnam (Ghent, N.Y.) rounded out the Gulls with sixth place finishes in limit flat.

Endicott returns to action at Stonehill on Saturday, November 12 and Boston College on Sunday, November 13.
