Endicott Crew Competes in 51st Head of The Charles Regatta

BOSTON, Mass. – On Saturday October, 17th, the Endicott Crew team competed in the 51st Head of The Charles Regatta. This event marked the third Regatta of the season for the Gulls after a strong performance in Worcester, Mass. at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta.

With windy conditions, the women's 4+ was the only boat to take to the water. Coach Adam Conrad attributed the team's success to discipline and a focus on the overall game plan. "We were looking to have better execution in the wind while focusing on rowing a complete race. Said Coach Adam Conrad "We focused on this specific boat and keeping connected through the full piece."

The Women's 4+ boat was led by junior coxswain Amanda Wolter (Chesapeak, Va.) along with sophomore Brenna Shanahan (Shelton, Conn.), seniors Kendra Czernicki (North Chelmsford, Mass.), and Erika Mercieri (Monson, Mass.) and junior Claire McKinnon (West Roxbury, Mass.)

The boat finished the day in 23:07 good enough for 55th place in a strong field of 64 boats. This finish marks the highest the team has placed at the regatta and sets the women's team with a building block for the spring season.

The Gulls will return to action on Saturday October 24th at the Class Day Regatta in Essex, Mass.
