BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team fell to No. 20/21 nationally ranked Saint Joseph's (Me.) by a 3-1 score in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at North Field.

Tied 1-1 in the top of the seventh, the Monks took the lead for good on a Dan Donovan (Lynn, Mass.) pinch-hit, run-producing double to right center, and a fielder's choice RBI off the bat of Taylor Black (Cardiff By The Sea, Calif.).

Endicott led 1-0 in the first inning when Chris Seidl (Dracut, Mass.) knocked home Nick Berno (St. Albans, Vt.) from first base with a double deep into the left center gap. Jameson Collins (Sandown, N.H.) went on to tie up the game in the fourth with a leadoff, opposite field home run down the right field line before a Saint Joseph's (Me.) eventually scored two runs in the seventh and held on for the victory.

Philip LeVangie (Hanover, Mass.) picked up the win (2-0) on three scoreless relief innings, which included three strikeouts, while Josh Partridge (Deerfield, N.H.) closed out the final 2 1/3 innings for his third save (one hit, one walk, three strikeouts). Corbin Hyde (Lewiston, Maine) was handed the loss (2-1) on 2/3 of an inning (hit batter, one run - earned).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Today's game marks the first loss for Endicott against a nationally ranked opponent all season (3-1).
• The Gulls are 7-5 overall at North Field in 2017.
• Zachary Sultar (South Windsor, Conn.) started for Endicott and threw four innings, yielded four hits, one run (earned), and one free pass alongside three punchouts.
• Will Bryant (Cumberland, Maine) logged 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Sultar, while Kyle Wollman (East Berlin, Conn.) and Alexander Mandrus (Acton, Mass.) held the Monks off the board in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively.
• Berno and Seidl combined for five of Endicott's eight hits (Bernon 2-3, one run | Sedil 3-4, one RBI).

FOR THE FOES

• The Monks are 20th nationally in the recent ABCA/Collegiate Baseball poll and 21st in the D3Baseball.com/NCBWA poll.
• Saint Joseph's (Me.) has now won 12 games in a row.
• Brett Barbati (Melrose, Mass.) went 3-for-4, while Collins was 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI.
• Collins home run was his third this season.
