Endicott Ranked Fourth in New England in First NCAA Regional Poll

NCAA Division III Regional Rankings - Updated April 24th

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA released their first installment of regional rankings and the Endicott baseball team found themselves ranked fourth behind #5/#6 Southern Maine, #25/#26 Eastern Connecticut State, and #24 Amherst who are all currently nationally-ranked by either the NCBWA/D3Baseball.com or Collegiate Baseball News polls.

Endicott (25-12) is one of just two CCC teams ranked in the NCAA Division III New England regional poll. Salve Regina comes in ninth behind Suffolk and just ahead of St. Joseph's (Maine).

In the most recent regional poll released by the NEIBA, Endicott came in seventh place but the NCAA regional rankings go a long way towards determining the possibility of earning an at-large bid into the NCAA New England Regional Tournament if the conference tournament's automatic bid isn't claimed. Southern Maine and Eastern will likely battle for the Little East Championship while Amherst and Tufts, the NCAA's seventh-ranked school in the region, are expected to contend for the NESCAC title.

As the standings currently sit in the CCC, Endicott will soon be named the top seed in the conference tournament after today's doubleheader between Nichols and Western New England. Salve Regina, however, could not make up any ground on Roger Williams in the conference standings and should be seeded third behind the Hawks.

The next installment of the NCAA regional rankings are expected to be released around mid-week.
