Sunday Synopsis: Men’s Basketball Goes 2-0 On The Week

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s basketball team beat both of its opponents by double-digits to highlight the week (Feb. 1-7) that was for the Gulls.

Endicott defeated Curry, 97-75, and Roger Williams, 64-51, to move into third place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) standings with four games remaining on the regular season schedule.

NEED TO KNOW: Daquan Sampson (Germantown, Md.) registered his eighth double-double of the season against Curry, while the Gulls had 11 student-athletes contribute at least one bucket in their victory over Roger Williams.

WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY

The Gulls slid into second place in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) standings by going 1-0-1 against Morrisville State over the weekend.

NEED TO KNOW: On Friday in game one of the weekend series, Endicott defeated the Mustangs 2-1 before earning a 2-2 (OT) tie on Saturday after erasing a two-goal deficit in the third period.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY

Endicott went 1-1-0 on the week falling to Wentworth, 4-3, on Wednesday and defeating Johnson & Wales University (JWU) on Saturday, 4-0.

NEED TO KNOW: The shutout for the Gulls on Saturday against JWU was the first in program history… freshman goaltender Kevin Aldridge (Beverly Hills, Mich.) stopped 46 shots and also notched the first-ever assist by a goalie in program history in the win.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Gulls went 1-1 versus Curry (W, 65-42) and Roger Williams (L, 72-64).

NEED TO KNOW: Endicott is currently second in the CCC standings, and one game ahead of Roger Williams (10-4) and Western New England (10-4).

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Endicott defeated No. 14 nationally ranked Wentworth on Wednesday before going 1-2 in the Live Free Or Die Invitational against Lasell (L, 3-2), Daniel Webster (W, 3-0), and Rivier (L, 3-0) to wrap up the week at 2-2 overall.

NEED TO KNOW: The Gulls open up New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play next Saturday (Feb. 13) on the road against Elms at 1 p.m.
