Balanced Scoring Attack Leads Gulls Past Host Roger Williams University, 64-51

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott men's basketball team downed host Roger Williams University, 64-51, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon inside the Recreation Center Gymnasium.

In an all-around team effort, every student-athlete in the Gulls' lineup contributed points. Junior forward Daquan Sampson (Germantown, Md.) led the way as he paced all scorers with a game-high 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Endicott led from the beginning, and built a double-digit lead with 7:13 to play in the opening stanza on sophomore guard Joel Villa's (Bronx, N.Y.) layup. The Gulls managed to extend their lead to 20-points with 56 seconds remaining in the first half on Sampson's three-pointer and sent the Gulls into the locker room up 38-19 at the break.

The Gulls' balanced offensive attack withstood a second-half surge from Roger Williams, as the Hawks were able to cut the deficit to 10 with 4:59 left in the game on junior guard Andrew Wasik's (Gainesville, Fla.) layup and that's as close as the Hawks would get the rest of the way as Endicott won its second game in a row.
