NCAA REGIONALS: Gulls Make History On Day Two

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field team scored points for the first time in program history at the NCAA DIII New England Regional Outdoor Championships, hosted by Williams College.

Nicole D'Angelo (Readfield, Maine) was responsible for the historic feat behind a fifth place finish in the shot put. Her toss of 37-feet and 6.75-inches scored four points for the Gulls to rank 28th overall out of 32 teams.

D'Angelo's performance marked the highest placement in program history for either an individual or a relay team at NCAA Regionals, indoors or outdoors.

Additionally, D'Angelo was the first student-athlete to score points for the Gulls at any NCAA Regional Championship earlier this year when she placed seventh overall in the shot put (37-2.25) at Indoor Regionals on 2/26/22.

The Gulls have competed in two indoor NCAA Regional Championships and three outdoor NCAA Regional Championships since the program was started in 2018.

Meanwhile, Endicott's 4x400-meter relay team comprised of Kira Charrier (Dartmouth, Mass.), Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.), Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.), and Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) shattered the school record in the event with a time of 4:18.71 (14th overall, 1st in Section 1).

The previous school record was 4:21.63, which was set on 5/3/19 at NCAA Regionals.

Sarah Aylwin (Topsfield, Mass.), Kinneal Dickens (Merrimac, Mass.), Ava Esmay (Underhill, Vt.), and Jordan Williams (Boxford, Mass.) also competed in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet finished 12th overall via a time of 52.19-seconds.

Alongside her performance in the shot put, D'Angelo rounded out Endicott's efforts one day two at NCAA Regionals with a 19th place finish in the pole vault (10-1.25).
