No. 8 Tufts Turns Away Women’s Lacrosse, 17-5

MEDFORD, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team fell to No. 8 nationally ranked Tufts University, 17-5, on Sunday evening in non-conference action at Bello Field.

Endicott received goals from Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.), Alex Fitzgerald (Guilford, Conn.), Maya Feigenbaum (West Hartford, Conn.), Aleah MacKay (Bedford, N.H.), and Katie Wagner (Brewster, N.Y.) in the loss.

Meanwhile, in goal, Bella Rino (Northborough, Mass.) stopped seven shots for the Gulls.

After Tufts opened the contest with a goal at the 28:57 mark, Feigenbaum (free position shot) and Fitzgerald followed with tallies at 27:19 and 26:28, respectively, to take an early 2-1 lead. 

From there, the Jumbos responded with five unanswered goals (6-2) and never relinquished the lead for the remainder of the matchup.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Jackie Healy (Northborough, Mass.) dished out the only assist for the Gulls on Fitzgerald's first half marker. It was her team-leading 12th assist of the season.
  • Rino is 5-3 in net for Endicott this spring.
  • Tufts extended its winning streak to seven straight games today.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (5-3, 1-0 CCC) hosts Salve Regina University on Wednesday, March 27 at 6 PM. No. 8 Tufts (7-0, 3-0 NESCAC) welcomes Connecticut College to its campus on Saturday, March 30 at 1 PM.
