Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College’s \#Morgan DeShaw\# (Danville, N.H.) and \#Kristen Micho\# (Syracuse, N.Y.) combined for 12 points as the Gulls cruised past Gordon College, 20-9, on Wednesday afternoon in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s lacrosse action in Beverly, Mass. The Gulls improve to 4-1 overall this season and a perfect 3-0 in the TCCC while the Fighting Scots drop to 0-2 and 0-1 in conference games.

Endicott fell into a quick 2-1 hole as Gordon converted a pair of free position shots from Katie Knaus (Kensington, Conn.) and Molly Lawry (Iowa City, Iowa). The Gulls responded with an 8-0 run to take a commanding 9-2 lead as five different Gulls scored during the stretch including three goals from DeShaw and a pair of scores from \#Kellie Cunningham\# (Derry, N.H.). Gordon ended the run on another goal from Knaus but entered the half trailing 12-5 as \#Valerie Feldman\# (Albany, N.Y.) scored her second goal of the period with 1:35 to play before halftime.

Endicott outshot the Fighting Scots at a 21-6 clip in the opening half while also scooping up 21 groundballs to Gordon’s 13.

Coming out of the break, Katie Knaus scored three goals in a three-minute span to close the score to 13-8. That would be as close as the Fighting Scots would get, however, as the Gulls went on a 7-1 run to close out the game and picked up their third TCCC win of the season.

The Gulls were led by DeShaw’s five goals while Micho and Feldman each added four tallies apiece. Micho also handed out a pair of assists and grabbed five groundballs while \#Kellie Cunningham\# scored three goals and added four draw controls. \#Leah Neff\# (South Berwick, Maine) made four saves in net to pick up her fourth win of the season.

Gordon was led by Katie Knaus’s six goals, nine draw controls and an assist. Hala Coker (East Falmouth, Mass.), Molly Lawry and Dana Peterson (West Lebanon, N.H.) also added goals for Gordon in the setback. Amelia Vierstra (Concord, Mass.) suffered the loss for Gordon despite making nine saves.

The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday when the Gulls travel to Roger Williams University for a TCCC matchup scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Gordon continues the search for its first win of the season when it travels to Salve Regina University on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
