BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott women's lacrosse team saw its 10-game winning streak snapped at the hands of Commonwealth Coast Conferene rival Colby-Sawyer College, which scored a xx win over the Gulls Wednesday afternoon at Endicott Stadium.

The Gulls also suffered their first loss in conference (10-2, 5-1 CCC) and are now tied for first place with the Chargers (5-3, 4-1 CCC).

Seniors Cathy Sharp (Rutland, VT/Rutland) and Susie Neikirk (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) each scored four goals for Endicott while sophomore Tara Stewart (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) scored four goals for Colby-Sawyer, which also got three goals from Lisa Giordano (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry).

The Gulls jumped out to a 3-2 lead early in the first but the visitors closed the opening half on a 5-2 run. Neikirk netted all four of her goals in the first 20 minutes while Sharp dropped in two goals in the second half to keep the hosts within striking distance.

Stewart and Amanda LeMarier (Warrenton, VA/Notre Dame Academy) opened the scoring in the second half, spotting the Chargers a 9-6 cushion. But Sharp and Shiori Tachiwana (Kanagawa, Japan/Sakae Institute) answered for EC, cutting the deficit to 9-8. But the Gulls could not net the equalizer as the teams traded goals over the final 8:46 of regulation. Sharp scored her fourth of the night to make the score 10-9 with just over five minutes remaining in regulation but sophomore Sarah McRoberts (Bourne, MA/Bourne) closed the door on an EC comeback when she scored with 2:59 left in the game.

Endicott will look to rebound Saturday when it hosts Regis College (1:00 PM) while the Chargers will battle Roger Williams Saturday at home (1:00) PM.
