No. 15 Women's Ice Hockey Ties Williams, 3-3

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 15 women's ice hockey team tied Williams, 3-3, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Rivers Morris (Braintree, Mass.) got the scoring started just over a minute in the first period as she cashed in a rebound following a Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) shot. 

The Gulls keep the 1-0 lead going into the second period as Lily Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) found the back of the net to double Endicott's lead at 10:43. The Ephs would cut the lead to 2-1 with a powerplay goal.

Endicott would respond a minute later following an Avari Maxwell (Wrentham, Mass.) tally and take a 3-1 lead going to the final period.

Williams scored two goals one minute and 16 seconds apart to tie the game and send the game to overtime.

In the extra session, both teams squandered opportunities that led to a shoot-out. 

In goal, Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) made 30 saves to move to 7-4-1 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 2-1-1 all-time against Williams.
  • First goal of Maxwell's career.
  • Hall led the Gulls with 10 faceoff wins.
  • Endicott won the shootout, 2-1, thanks to a Maddie DiNardo (Topsfield, Mass.) winner.

No. 15 Endicott (8-4-1) travels to Middlebury on Saturday, January 6 at 3 PM. Williams (4-1-1) travels to Charleston, South Carolina and plays Adrian College on Saturday, December 30 at 11:30 AM.
