No. 9/9 Babson Downs Women’s Basketball, 76-51

BABSON PARK, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team lost to No. 9/9 nationally ranked Babson, 76-51, on Saturday afternoon at Staake Gymnasium on the final day of the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament.

Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) highlighted the Gulls with 17 points (8-16 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, and three assists.

Cassie Caldwell (Marshfield, Mass.) added 13 points, while Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) compiled nine points, six rebounds, and three assists in the setback.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Babson is ranked No. 9 in the latest D3hoops.com and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) polls.
  • The Beavers broke up a 10-10 tie in the first quarter (4:47) via a 10-0 run and held onto their advantage the rest of the way.
  • In the second quarter, Endicott pulled within four points, 20-16, with 6:41 to play before Babson produced a 42-25 lead (17 points) at the break to put the game out of reach.
  • The Beavers are 4-1 all-time against Endicott.
  • Avery Hallinan (Amesbury, Mass.) notched her first collegiate bucket with a jumper at the 2:43 mark of the third.
  • Kiley Drezek (Seymour, Conn.) scored her first point with the Gulls via a free throw with six seconds to play.
