MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — The Endicott women's basketball team traveled to Wesleyan (Conn.) for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening and was handed a 79-42 loss.
During the opening minutes of the game, both teams kept the score close but the Cardinals went on a 13-0 run over a span of five minutes to pull away and take a 19-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Wesleyan continued the offensive pressure in the second frame to take a 46-16 advantage at the half.
Throughout the third and fourth quarters, the Cardinals maintained the lead and eventually came out on top, 79-42.
Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) led the Gulls with 11 points, while Lexi Gellerman (West Hartford, Conn.) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Mikaela Rogers (Haverhill, Mass.) netted nine points and Gellerman was close behind with six.
- Olivia Gorman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) recorded 15 points for the Cardinals, while Chynna Bailey (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Ava Tompkins (Juneau, Alaska) each had 12.
- Katy O'Connor (Southampton, Mass.) led Wesleyan in rebounds with nine.

Endicott (4-3) travels to Salem State on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 3 PM. Wesleyan (4-1) travels to Williams for a 3 PM game on Saturday, Dec. 8.
