Gulls Season Continues as Women’s Basketball Earns #2 Seed in ECAC Tournament

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The Endicott women's basketball team will continue their season as they were selected to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced Monday. The #2 Gulls (20-7, 14-4 CCC) are set to host #7 Wellelsey (16-9, 13-7 NEWMAC) in the first round after being ousted from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) last Thursday in the semifinals. The Gulls are the only CCC team to be selected in the ECAC tournament this season.

Wellesley earned the #7 seed in the bracket after being ousted from the NEWMAC Tournament by Babson in the semifinals. The Blue also came out victorious against Plymouth State, Simmons and Wesleyan (Conn.) in their out of conference schedule.

This will be the Blue and Green's 10th straight trip to the tournament (4-5 overall) and just the second meeting with the Blue in program history, the last being in 2006. This group of Gulls will be looking to finish their season strong by making a competitive run in the tournament and earn their first championship in program history under the leadership of co-captains, seniors Samantha Crough (Cohasset, Mass.) and Julie Manning (Hull, Mass.).

Endicott and Wellesley will take the court on Wednesday, March 5th at 7:00 p.m.. in Gulls territory at MacDonald Gymnasium. Live stats and video will be provided, check in with ECGulls.com on gameday!
