Bortolotti, Fales, MacDonald headline All-TCCC selections
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College’s \#Jenna Bortolotti\# (Milton, Mass.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference’s Pitcher of the Year while freshman \#Krista Fales\# (Melrose, Mass.) was named the TCCC Rookie of the Year and \#Merry MacDonald\# (Braintree, Mass.) was named the TCCC Senior Scholar Athlete, as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Wednesday afternoon. Bortolotti, MacDonald and Fales highlight eight All-TCCC nominations for the Gulls, who led the Blue and Green to a 25-10-1 overall record and 18-5-1 mark in league play.

Bortolotti was a dominant force in the circle this year for the Gulls as she registered a 16-0 record in conference play. In addition to leading the league in wins, Bortolotti also led the way in ERA (1.06), shutouts (6), and opponent’s batting average (.188). Her dominance allowed the Gulls to grab the top overall seed in TCCC tournament play. \#Jenna Bortolotti\# gave up just 15 earned runs in 98.2 innings pitched while striking out 65 batters as well. Bortolotti was also named an All-TCCC First Team selection.

\#Krista Fales\#, a 2010 All-TCCC Second Team selection, was a key contributor to an Endicott attack that led the conference in most major offensive categories including; batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs, doubles, RBI, walks, and steals. Fales ranked first in the conference in on-base percentage (.543), was fourth in batting average (.446), and third in walks (13) during her freshman campaign. Fales was third on the team in RBI in league games (18) and tied for second in doubles (6) while playing behind the plate and catching all of \#Jenna Bortolotti\#’s games this season.

\#Merry MacDonald\#, who was recognized as the 2009 TCCC Player of the Year, is a standout performer in the classroom as well. As a Sport Management major at Endicott, MacDonald carried an impressive 3.93 GPA. On the field, this season MacDonald continued to thrive, ranking in the top-ten in hits (7th, 31), runs scored (4th, 23), triples (4th, 2), and stolen bases (3rd, 14) during conference play. MacDonald, a Second Team selection, led the Gulls in hits during conference play while playing a stellar third base, making only one error in 74 chances (.986 fielding percentage).

Joining Bortolotti on the All-TCCC First Team is shortstop \#Jenna Lazar\# (Milton, Mass.). Lazar, a four-year All-TCCC selection, batted .418 in league games this year while notching 28 hits and scoring 20 runs and driving in 15 RBI. Lazar drew 12 walks while striking out only five times in 67 at-bats and posting a .506 on-base percentage.

The Gulls had five players named to the All-TCCC Second Team including Fales and \#Merry MacDonald\#. Senior \#Sarah Spaziano\# (Norton, Mass.) was named to her third All-TCCC team after grabbing First Team honors in 2007 and 2009. Spaziano batted .324 while driving in 19 RBI and hitting a pair of homeruns in conference games. Outfielders \#Megan Downey\# (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and \#Ashley Wright\# (Merrimack, N.H.) were both named to the Second Team after Downey batted .367 in 10 games while going 10-for-10 in steal attempts, and Wright led the team in runs scored (23), doubles (8), homeruns (5), RBI (21) and total bases (51) during conference play.

Rounding out the All-TCCC selections is \#Nicole Devlin\# (Dudley, Mass.) who was named an Honorable Mention selection this year. Devlin batted .388 in 20 games while having 19 hits, including three homeruns, and driving in 15 RBI. The freshman also posted a .673 slugging percentage and added a .958 fielding percentage in 120 chances.

The Blue and Green earned the top-seed in the upcoming TCCC Playoffs and begin the pursuit of their eighth-straight The Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship when the Tournament resumes on Thursday afternoon.
