BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College middle blocker A.J. Witkofsky (Scotia, N.Y.) has been named the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association's New England Player of the Week. The Endicott sophomore put together an impressive three matches, leading the Gulls to a perfect 3-0 mark last week.
In a come-from-behind win over 14th-ranked Rivier, Witkofsky smashed 26 kills and seven total blocks in the five-game victory. A.J. also had 17 kills and seven total blocks in a three-game sweep of playoff-bound Elms College on Saturday. For the week, A.J. posted 53 kills, 24 digs and 20 total blocks, all while swinging .471% with only 12 errors.
Endicott will return to action on Monday night as the Gulls host the University of New Haven for a 7:00 p.m. match in Beverly, Mass.
