BOYDS, Md. — The Endicott men's rugby team finished third overall at the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) 7s Small College National Championships this past weekend.
The Gulls started off the weekend on Friday with wins against Franciscan (24-12) and Virginia Military Institute (36-19) to advance to the NCR National Semifinals.
On Saturday, the Gulls fell to St. Thomas in the semis, 19-12, but bounced back in the third place match against Christendom with a 21-12 victory.
Kyle Ernest (Severna Park, Md.) headlined the Gulls' efforts at nationals by earning a spot on the NCR Small College All-Tournament Team. He was only one of seven student-athletes selected for the squad.
