Gulls Try To Tame Play at Sable Oaks

Oct. 4, 2004

The Endicott men's golf team finished in the middle of the pack at a tough Sable Oaks golf course in Portland, Maine this weekend. The Gulls had a good showing at the University of Southern Maine's Fall Classic Invitational golf tournament finishing fourth out of 9 teams. Freshman Nick Turczak led the Gulls with a two-day total score of 154 (the 9th best score out of 45 golfers). The five Endicott golfers finished with a team total of 642.

Nick Turczak fired the low round for the Gulls with a 76 on Sunday. Junior Brian Gill was steady as usual with a two-day total of 158. Matt George, Ion Corral, and Mike Desrosiers scored 164, 166, and 174 respectively. The team struggled all weekend with the fast greens. From tee to green the Gulls hit the ball well but unfortunately there were too many missed putts.

The Gulls are off too the N.E.I.G.A. tournament at the Captains Golf Course on October 17th, located in Brewster, MA. The team looks to improve upon the two-day total of 642 by at least 10 shots.
