Joe Hook enters his first year as an assistant coach with the Endicott football program in 2018. Hook will work primarily with the offensive line along with his recruiting responsibilities.

In his first season coaching the offensive line, Hook guided four student-athletes to All-Conference honors, which marks the highest total of All-Conference honorees in a single-season in program history. Highlighting the four All-Conference honorees was Kha-lil Goodman who was named the CCC Football Offensive Lineman of the Year. Goodman is the first Offensive Lineman of the Year selection in the history of the program. Goodman also claimed NEFW All-Region accolades this season as well. 

Meanwhile, at the conclusion of Endicott's season, the Gulls ranked No. 8 in all of NCAA Division in sacks allowed. Endicott also finished the year with league-best marks in passing yards (2,642), passing yards per game (240.2), passing touchdowns (29), and red zone percentage (86%). Additionally, the Gulls finished second in the conference in points (391), points per game (35.5), total offense (4,771), yards per game (433.7), rushing yards (2,129), rushing yards per game (193.5), and rushing touchdowns (19). 

Hook came to Endicott from Assumption College after serving as an assistant coach with the Greyhounds’ program for two seasons. At Assumption, Hook was responsible for the offensive line, which in 2016 ranked No. 8 nationally in fewest sacks allowed per game. Assumption also ranked No. 17 in Division II in scoring (39.2) during the same year. Prior to Assumption, Hook was the offensive line coach at Westfield High School from August 2014 to July 2015.

A 2014 graduate of the University of Maine with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Development, Hook started 36 games at right tackle for Maine and earned numerous accolades during his collegiate career. His awards included a College Sports Madness FCS Football All-American Second Team selection (2013), All-CAA Football Second Team honors (2013), Maine Offensive Rookie of the Year accolades (2010), and the Maine Most Improved Offensive Player of the Year award (2010). Meanwhile, in 2013, Hook also helped Maine capture the CAA Football Championship.

Aside from his playing career, Hook was previously a teacher for two years at the middle school and high school levels (special education paraprofessional/autism assistant). He also served as a peer educator for the Male Athletes Against Violence organization.
