Football Routs Nichols, 52-7

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott football team defeated Nichols, 52-7, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

Everett Knowlton III (Mansfield, Mass.), Freddy Gabin (North Andover, Mass.), Tyler Bridge (Wells, Maine), Clayton Marengi (Lynnfield, Mass.), David Pignone (Stoneham, Mass.), Anthony Caggianelli (Pelham, N.H.), and Sean Benson (Canton, Mass.) all found the end zone in the victory.

Endicott also saw Ismar Kandic (Cromwell, Conn.) and Brett Morris (Wayland, Mass.) combine to record a safety, while Luke Gjerde (Essex, Mass.) buried a 28-yard field goal to round out the scoring.

After giving up a game-tying score (7-7) at the 5:48 mark of the first, Gabin put the Gulls on his back with an electrifying 87-yard kickoff return touchdown to steal all momentum in the contest.

Gabin made a few defenders miss up the far sideline before Ryan Freiberger (Marblehead, Mass.) and Jaeden Baxter (Worcester, Mass.) made key blocks late in the return to spring Gabin into the end zone.

Following Gabin's gut-punch kickoff return touchdown, Endicott went on to score once more in the first (21-7, 3:04) before racking up 31 points the rest of the way.
