The newly assembled Crew Team would like to announce that freshman Alison Probolus (Concord-Carlisle) and sophomore Marissa Nicholson (Groton-Dunston Regional) were voted in as Captains for the 2006 season. Probolus brings a wealth of experience from rowing with CRI (Charles River, Boston) in both sweep and skull, and as a freshman understands the tremendous responsibility awaiting her. Says Probolus "I am excited and encouraged by the support of my crew mates, and grateful to the administration and Mr and Mrs. Smock". She continues "I know we have a lot of work to do, both on the water and through dry land conditioning, but as each month passes, we plan on taking crew to a seriously competitive level". Nicholson, a key figure in developing the proposal and spearheading the development of the team, along with Matt Daigle and Ben Cobb, has helped drive student and administrative support. Such young talent and commitment will be key factors for ensuring success over the next four years as the team prepares for eventual competition.

Jean Smock, an Endicott alum, and her husband Bud are avid supporters of the new Crew Team and have taken part in meetings from the earliest days of the program. Along with sound advice and financial support, including a recent donation, the Smocks have also donated skulls and equipment, all of which provided the foundation on which the program is being built.
