What to Watch for in 2024

BEVERLY, Mass. – The 2024 portion of the varsity athletics schedule has already provided Gulls' fans with some fun moments, including Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) eclipsing the 1,000 career point plateau and Zach Mazur (Lancaster, N.Y.) becoming the fifth 100-point scorer in men's ice hockey program history.

Here are some exciting milestones to keep track of for the remainder of the calendar year put together by the ECGulls.com Staff. The data provided is based on statistical outcomes that have the potential to happen versus making predictions, therefore, it does not include all sports.

WINTER SPORTS

  • Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) currently ranks third all-time in scoring with 1,723 points. Keith Brown '20 (Pelham, N.H.) is first all-time with 2,046 points, while Endicott Hall of Famer Kamahl Walker '17 (Worcester, Mass.) is second at 1,894 points. Echevarria and the Gulls have nine regular season games remaining on the schedule.
  • The women's basketball program is four wins away from 450 all-time victories, while head coach Brittany Hutchinson is five wins shy of reaching 200 career victories. Hutchinson is the all-time winningest coach in women's basketball program history.
  • Connor Beatty (Concord, N.H.), Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.), and Mazur are tied for second all-time in game-winning goals at nine; the program record is 10 held by Jason Kalinowski '19 M'20 (Stamford, Conn.).
  • Samantha Fantasia (Billerica, Mass.) currently ranks eighth all-time in points with 48 (23g, 25a) and only needs five more points to take sole possession of seventh on the all-time list.

SPRING SPORTS

  • Baseball is six victories shy of reaching 700 wins in program history (began in 1995).
  • Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) is 12 doubles away from tying Endicott Hall of Famer Bryan Caruso's '02 (Northfield, N.H.) record of 48 and two homers short of tying Caleb Shpur's '23 (East Canaan, Conn.) record of 24.
  • Softball needs 20 wins this season to become the first program in Endicott Athletics history to reach the 800 career victories plateau.
  • Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.) is 31 games away from ranking 10th all-time in games played for the softball program. The Gulls have averaged over 40 games played the last two seasons.
  • Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.) has a chance to move into second place all-time on the men's lacrosse assist leaderboard. Pagluiso enters this season with 102 total and has averaged 34 helpers a season. Colin Bannon '17 M'18 (Westport, Conn.) currently ranks second all-time with 138 assists.
  • Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.) could break into the top-10 all-time for caused turnovers this spring. The senior defender needs 24 total to achieve the feat, which is seven less than she recorded last season for the women's lacrosse team.
  • Men's volleyball head coach George Chapell '08 is one win shy of 200 entering the squad's season/home opener on Wednesday, January 24 at 7 PM. Chapell also is 16 victories shy of becoming the winningest coach in program history. He would surpass current women's volleyball head coach Tim Byram on the list (214-164, .566).
