SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced their Fall 2014 Academic All-Conference Team and Endicott was the leader of the pack with 47 honorees across seven first semester sports that included men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis, and women’s volleyball.
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.- Coming off of a 2013 season in which both the men and women put forth record performances at the NCAA DIII New England Regional Championship, each program re-wrote the Endicott record books as the men finished in 39th out of 54 teams while the women finished at an all-time best 31st out of 57 squads. The race was run on the Mt. Greylock course, the same course that the Gulls ran during the Purple Valley Classic earlier in the season. Both results set program records as the Gulls continue to rapidly improve under second year head coach Nick Radkewich.
WESTFIELD, Mass.- With the CCC Championships behind them and the NCAA DIII New England Regionals on the horizon next weekend, the Endicott cross country teams competed in the ECAC DIII Championships on Saturday. The women were led by Jocelyn Kane's (East Longmeadow, Mass.) 25:30.71 in the 5k race while Alex Walecka's (North Dartmouth, Mass.) 29:36.97 8k time paced the men. Both team's now take the week to prepare for the NCAA DIII New England Regionals that will be hosted Saturday in Williamstown, Mass.
WENHAM, Mass.- Looking build upon this year's successful regular season, both cross country programs competed at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships hosted by Gordon. The men were led by Zachary Marshall's (Hinesburg, Vt.) 17th place finish to place 6th at the meet while the women were paced by Erin Haynes' (Oakham, Mass.) sixth place finish as the team finished fourth.
BEVERLY, Mass.- With the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships being hosted at Gordon tomorrow for both men’s and women’s cross country, the Endicott squads have been preparing since last year for this event to show that they are ready to be big players in the CCC picture. In 2013, the men were led by Noah Mondello (Gloucester, Mass.) as the team finished sixth while the women were led by Erin Haynes (Oakham, Mass.) who guided the team to a fourth place finish. With last year’s success coupled with the strong showings throughout this season, head coach Nick Radkewich is expecting big results from both programs.
BOSTON, Mass.- The Endicott cross country programs had one final tune up before the postseason commences on Friday as the teams ran in the 2014 Emmanuel Saints Invitational at Franklin Park. With the CCC Championships just two weeks away, both teams ran well with the women finishing fifth out of 17 teams and the men finishing ninth out of 20. Both teams will now have two weeks to prepare for the postseason gauntlet that comes throughout the month of November, starting with the CCC Championships on Saturday, November 1st, at Gordon in Wenham, Mass.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) released their weekly awards Monday morning and freshman Zachary Marshall (Hinesburg, Vt.) of the men’s cross country team earned the team’s first Runner of the Week award of the season after their impressive showing at the Keene State Invitational.
KEENE, N.H.- Led by freshman Zachary Marshall (Hinesburg, Vt.), the Endicott men's cross country team finished 6th out of 12 teams at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday. Marshall's 19th place finish led the Gulls as all five runners to record a score finished in the top 40 out of 127 racers. Endicott has now finished in the top six in three of four races on the season as Marshall has been the top runner in each race. The Gulls are now off until the 17th when they travel to Boston to compete in the Saints Invitational, hosted by Emmanuel.
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – At the site of the 2014 NCAA Division III New England Regional, the Endicott men’s and women’s cross country teams raced against a challenging field at the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams College. Both teams finished in 17th place among fields consisting of over 20 programs racing in the warm, late-September weather.
BEVERLY, Mass.- While most teams at Endicott will be hosting home contests this weekend as it is Endicott’s Homecoming Weekend, the cross country teams took a different approach; they’re heading to arguably the toughest race in the country. The squads will be running in the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams, a program that currently sits ranked #2 in the nation for women and #6 for men. The course, at Mt. Greylock Regional High in Williamstown, Mass., also plays host to the NCAA Regionals later in the fall. With eyes set on the program’s first ever Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title, head coach Nick Radkewich knows that to accomplish that feat, the Gulls need to be challenged against the best.
BIDDEFORD, Maine- Coming off of stellar season debuts in which the women finished first out of nine teams at the RWU Invitational and the men finished fourth of nine, both squads continued their success as the women finished second at the UNE Invitational while the men finished fifth. For the women, the race consisted of 14 teams while the men's race had a 12 team field.
BRISTOL, R.I.- The 2014 season got off to a fantastic start for both cross country programs on Saturday, with the women recording a first place team finish as well as first place individual, and the men finishing fourth of nine teams in contention. Both teams have another week of preparation ahead before they travel to Biddeford, Maine for the UNE Invitational on Saturday.
