HALL OF FAME SPEECH

Sam Ozycz was world-class on and off the field at Endicott.

Athletically, Ozycz claimed several awards for his play at the faceoff X, highlighted by his selection as the 2013 NCAA Division III and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Faceoff Specialist of the Year.

Ozycz's other awards include being named to the Tewaaraton Award Watchlist, two All-America honors, ECAC All-New England and CCC Defensive Player of the Year accolades, two All-Region awards, and a pair of All-CCC selections.

Meanwhile, his career numbers include 82 games played, 29 goals, 9 assists, 38 points, 728 ground balls, and 1,074 faceoff wins in 1,602 attempts (.670).

Ozycz still ranks second all-time at Endicott in faceoff wins, faceoff percentage, ground balls, ground balls per game (8.88), and games played. As for the NCAA Division III record books, Ozycz is fourth all-time in career ground balls and ranks in the top-10 for the following single-season records (all established in 2013): ground balls per game (13.84, ranks 3rd all-time), total ground balls (263, 2nd), faceoff wins (354, 5th), and faceoff win percentage (.761, 7th).

As a team, the Gulls went 71-32 overall (.689) and 39-6 in conference play (.867) during his time with the program from 2009-13. Endicott also won two CCC titles, a pair of ECAC Championships, and made two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Academically, Ozycz was a USILA Scholar All-American, the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and a CCC Academic All-Conference honoree.
