Matt Schairer enters his second season, and third overall, as an assistant coach with the men's lacrosse program in 2016-17. During the 2012-13 season, Schairer was a member of the Endicott men's lacrosse coaching staff before he held a similar position for two years at UMass-Lowell.

At UMass-Lowell, Schairer helped head coach Ed Stephenson build up a then-brand new NCAA Division I program. Schairer worked primarily on the defensive end of the field, as well as running the substitution box.
Prior to UMass-Lowell, Schairer spent the 2012-13 season as an assistant coach at Endicott College, where he helped the Gulls to the 2013 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular season championship (7-1) and a 13-6 overall clip.

As a student-athlete, Schairer transferred from Quinnipiac after one season to Keene State College where he enjoyed a stellar career. In his three years, he earned Little East All-Conference (LEC) All-Conference honors each year as well as All-New England and USILA North/South All-Star awards as a senior. Additionally, he was a two-year captain and twice the team’s most valuable player.

Schairer graduated from Keene State cum laude with a 3.60 grade point average. Prior to Keene State, he was a two-sport standout (football, lacrosse) at King Phillip Regional High School. Schairer currently resides in Millis, Mass.
