Women’s Cross Country Ties Program Best Finish At CCC Championship

WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's cross country team earned runner-up honors at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Gordon College.

Suffolk secured its third-straight CCC title with 44 points, finishing ahead of Endicott (49), Roger Williams (75), Gordon (76), the University of New England (101), Western New England (173), and Wentworth (214).

The Gulls placed second overall behind a school-record four CCC All-Conference performances.

Cailin Lawlor (Wrentham, Mass.) highlighted the group on the 6-kilometer course with a fourth place finish in a school record/personal best time of 23:05.6.

Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.) ranked sixth overall (23:44.9), while Sofia Moukaddem (Weston, Mass.) was eighth (23:58.0), and Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.) placed 14th (24:27.3).

The top-15 runners in the field receive CCC All-Conference honors.

Cassandra Cosma (Center Moriches, N.Y.) rounded out Endicott's top-5 in a personal best time of 24:39.1 (17th overall).

"I'm so excited for the next few weeks gearing up towards regionals. This will be a great time together with the team. Our conference has become a force in the region and at the national level, so days like today always bring out the best in everyone."

  • Lawlor was the top rookie finisher among the field of 78 runners.
  • Moukaddem placed first among all true freshmen in the race.
  • The Gulls' top-5 averaged a program best time of 23:59.0 on the 6k course.
  • Endicott also finished second overall at the CCC Championship in 2002.
  • Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.), Allie DeVoe (Ridgefield, Conn.), Gabrielle Page (Londonderry, N.H.), and Makenna Hubert (Rutland, Vt.) all produced personal best times (26th, 25:22 | 29th, 25:43 | 43rd, 27:02 | 50th, 27:24).

Endicott will compete in the NCAA DIII East Regional Championship on Saturday, November 11 in Contoocook, N.H. (Hopkinson State Fair Grounds).
