Women's Volleyball Tops UNE In CCC First Round, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass.  — The Endicott women's volleyball team took down the University of New England in four sets, 25-19, 17-25, 25-20, 25-10, on Tuesday night inside MacDonald Gymnasium. 

Three Gulls recorded double-digit kills as Julia Giroux (Bedford, N.H.) led the way with 16, while Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) notched 11 putaways.

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) chipped in 10 kills to go with 12 digs on the backline.

Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) and Haley Weiner (Southington, Conn.) were each vital in facilitating the offense as they dished out 21 assists apiece. Both Cambell and Weiner had a match-high three service aces.

On the defensive end, Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) led the way for the Gulls with 14 digs. At the front of the net, Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) helped slow down the UNE offense with five blocks (one solo, four assists). 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • With today's win, Endicott extends its streak to 23 consecutive conference semifinal appearances.
  • Fourth consecutive match with 20 or more assists for Cambell.
  • Third straight double-double for Helenbrook.
  • Endicott improves to 31-3 in the all-time series against UNE.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 2 seed Endicott (14-13) advances to the CCC Semifinals on Thursday, as it hosts No. 3 seed Western New England at 7 PM in MacDonald Gymnasium. No. 7 seed UNE sees its season come to an end, as its final 2023 record stands at 14-9.
