Women's Volleyball Reverse Sweeps Roger Williams To Earn Gritty Road Win

BRISTOL, R.I.— The Endicott women's volleyball team rallied past Roger Williams, 3-2, by scores of 21-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-17, and 17-15 in Commonwealth Coast Conference action (CCC) on Friday night inside the Campus Rec Center Gymnasium.

Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) led the attack for the Gulls with a career-high 21 kills. 

Julia Giroux (Bedford, N.H.) also chipped in with 17 putaways, while Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) and Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) both added six kills, respectively.

Savannah Cambell (Sequel, Calif.) facilitated the offense with 39 assists along with 11 digs.

Meanwhile, the Gulls were dominant at the front of the net all match as they set a new season-high in block assists with 20. Schueler led the way with six block assists as Murphy was right behind her with five.

Defensively, Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) led a strong backline with a team-high 22 digs. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is now 24-19 all-time against Roger Williams.
  • After falling behind 10-7 in the fifth set, the Gulls responded with a 10-5 run to win the match.
  • Schueler produced the first 20-kill match of her career.
  • Endicott outhit the hosts, .464 - .179, .303 - .000, and .300 - .240 in the final three sets.

Endicott (8-8, 3-0 CCC) hosts Nichols on Thursday, October 12 at 7 PM. Roger Williams (5-10, 1-2 CCC) travels to Coast Guard on Saturday, October 7 at 1 PM.
