Women's Volleyball Splits Matches Against Hunter & No. 11 NYU

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Endicott women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon at the John A. Paulson Center against Hunter (W, 3-1) and No. 11 NYU (L, 3-0). 

ENDICOTT 3, HUNTER 1 (25-16, 25-19, 26-28, 25-16)

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) led a strong offensive effort with 16 kills on 31 swings (.452 percentage).

Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) also produced 13 kills, while Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) chipped in with nine putaways.

The Gulls set a new season high in block assists with 16 as Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.) and Scheuler had six and five, respectively.

Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) and Haley Weiner (Southington, Conn.) both ran the offense with 20 assists apiece. 

Defensively, Lexi Tecun (Hawthorne, Calif.) set a season high in digs with 18 to go along with eight assists and a service ace.  


NYU 3, ENDICOTT 0 (16-25, 12-25, 14-25)

Schueler paced the attack with six kills on 13 attacks (.462 percentage), while Talia Camacho (Franklin Square N.Y.) registered five putaways.

On the other end, Helenbrook led the team with six digs.


BEYOND THE BOX SCORES

  • Endicott is now 1-0 against Hunter and 1-1 against NYU.
  • The Gulls tied a season-high in service aces (16) and assists (50) versus Hunter.
  • Helenbrook and Schueler both led the way for the Gulls with 19 kills apiece combined between both matches.
  • Weiner registered a career-high six service aces in the opener.
