Women's Volleyball Drops Hard Fought Match To Babson, 3-1

BABSON PARK, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team pushed Babson to the brink before falling, 3-1, by scores of 30-32, 25-21, 24-26, and 11-25 on Wednesday night inside Staake Gymnasium.

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) led the way for the Gulls with a season high 18 kills while Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) added 11 putaways on 26 attacks (.385). 

Meanwhile, Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) and Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.) both chipped in six.

Savannah Cambell (Sequel, Calif.) facilitated the offense with 33 assists and was one of four Gulls with 10 or more digs.

Helenbrook led the backline with 13 digs while Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) had 11 herself.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is now 8-9 in the all time series against Babson.
  • The 30 points scored by the Gulls in the first set is a season high and their most in a match since 2015 against Brandeis (3-0, 9/5/15).
  • The first set featured 23 tied scores and 12 lead changes and in total, the match featured 36 tied scores and 19 lead changes.
  • This is the eighth straight match between the two sides to go to a fourth or fifth set.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (5-7) travels to New York City on Saturday, September 30 for a tri-match where they will take on Hunter at 1:30 and No.11 NYU at 4 PM.

Babson (13-1) takes on Wheaton (Mass.) in conference play on Saturday, September 30 on the road in Norton.
