UC Santa Cruz Tops Women’s Volleyball, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team lost to UC Santa Cruz, 3-0, by scores of 15-25, 19-25, and 17-25 on Friday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) paced the Gulls with 10 kills on 22 swings (.273).

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) added six kills, while Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) chipped in with five to highlight the rest of the attack.

Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif.) facilitated the offense with 22 assists and Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) notched a match-high (tied) eight digs to bolster Endicott's defensive efforts.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Banana Slugs evened up the all-time series at 1-1.
  • Endicott won the first meeting between the programs by a 3-1 score back in 2010.
  • UC Santa Cruz, winners of four straight, improved to 5-1 on the road this season.

Endicott (4-6) visits Hartford on Saturday, September 23 at 1:30 PM. UC Santa Cruz (12-5) takes on Springfield and MIT on Saturday, September 23 in Cambridge, Mass.
