Women's Volleyball Best Simmons, 3-1

Boston, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team Simmons, 3-1, by scores of 25-21, 21-25, 26-24, and 25-21 on Tuesday night inside the William J. Holmes Sport & Fitness Center.

Julia Giroux (Bedford, N.H.) was dominant offensively for the Gulls as she scored 19 kills on 39 swings (.333).

Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) and Krystina Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.) both had eight and seven kills respectively as Murphy had 12 total attacks for a .667 percentage. 

Savannah Cambell (Sequel, Calif.) paced the Gulls offense with a double-double of her own with 44 assists and 10 digs. 

Emma Rule (Duxbury, Mass.) led the team with 12 digs as she added three assists as well.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • With the win, head coach Tim Byrum has 500 wins all-time as a head coach.

  • Schueler recorded 7 kills in the match, giving her 500 for her career.

  • Endicott is 8-2 all-time against Simmons in the all-time series.

  • The Gulls start the season 2-0 for the 7th time in program history (based upon available data).

Endicott (2-0) has its home opener, Friday, September 8 at 6 PM against Keene St. Simmons (0-4) travels to take on Eastern Connecticut St. (12 PM) and Bay Path (2 PM) on Saturday, September 9 in Willimantic, Conn.
