ENDICOTT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-AMERICA HISTORY

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The  American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its 2022 All-America honors on Tuesday afternoon, and Endicott's Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.) has been named a Second Team All-American. It is the second straight season in which an Endicott women's volleyball team member has made program history, as she becomes the first to receive Second Team recognition. Gilbert joins fellow graduate student Colleen McAvoy as the only two members in program history to earn All-America honors as the latter received Third Team honors in 2021.

The Hopkinton, Mass. native enjoyed a career year in 2022 as she helped lead the Gulls to a 22-9 record overall that included an NCAA DIII Tournament appearance, the program's third straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title, and two wins over nationally-ranked opponents for the second straight season with wins over No. 10 MIT and No. 18 Babson, both by 3-1 finals. Endicott's title run came via three straight 3-0 sweeps, which saw the outside lead the team in kills in each match, averaging over 14 kills and eight digs per match, while hitting .364.

Individually, Gilbert was named CCC Player of the Year and garnered All-CCC First Team honors for the second straight season while also being named AVCA All-Region for the second straight season. The fifth-year eclipsed the 1,000 career kill plateau, becoming the ninth in program history to do so. On the season, Gilbert's 377 kills were the seventh-highest single-season performance in program history, while her 3.66 kills/set were second best, and her average of .269 was good for 10th in the single-season record books. She finished the 2022 campaign with 439.5 points, also good for the seventh-best single-season effort in program history, while her 4.27 points/set average was good for second.

For her storied career, Gilbert helped lead the Gulls to three CCC titles, as she was named to All-CCC teams on four separate occasions (2022 & 2021 First Team, 2019 Second Team, 2018 Third Team), receiving two AVCA All-Region honors (2022 & 2021), and an AVCA DIII All-America Honorable Mention recognition in 2021.
