Gulls Set School Record For Points At Saint Joseph’s (Me.) Invitational

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field team won six events at the Saint Joseph's (Me.) Invitational on Saturday evening en route to scoring a school record 174.50 points at the meet.

Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) headlined the group of event winners with a New England qualifying time in the 5,000-meter run. Risko crossed the finish line in a school record time of 18:20.83, which was nearly 20 seconds faster than the New England standard (18:40.00).

Kiera Malone '23 (Woburn, Mass.) held the previous school record since 4/28/18 (18:40.92).

The Gulls also took the top-4 spots in the 400m dash, led by a school record time from Julia Maclaine (North Easton, Mass.). The freshman sprinter cruised to a time of 1:01.38.

Colleen McLaughlin (Ipswich, Mass.), Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.), and Gabby Peniche (Milford, Mass.) followed in the next three spots (1:02.77, 1:02.91, 1:03.82).

Chloe Crear (Pelham, N.H.) took down the school record in the 400m hurdles with a winning time of 1:11.47.

Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.) and Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) notched first and third place finishes in the 800m (2:22.77, 2:33.60), while Logan Baxter (Coventry, R.I.) cleared 9-feet and 0.25-inches in the pole vault to round out the list of individual event winners.

Endicott's 4x400m relay consisting of Maclaine, am Ende, Peniche, and McLaughlin ran away from the field with a time of 4:17.77, almost 22 seconds faster than the runner-up.

Overall, the Gulls posted 17 top-3 finishes to rank 89 points ahead of Thomas College with only the hammer, 10,000m, and heptathlon left to score at the time of writing.
