Caliri, Jewett Earn United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region Honors

UNITED SOCCER SCHOLAR ALL-EAST REGION RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's soccer student-athletes Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.) have received United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region Third Team honors.

Caliri currently sports a 3.90 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as a biology/biotechnology major.

The junior goalkeeper logged 1,878:51 minutes in net for the Gulls this season alongside a 13-5-4 record, a program record 12 shutouts, a 0.62 goals against average (third all-time single season), and a .831 save percentage.

Among her NCAA D3 peers, Caliri finished the 2023 campaign ranked No. 9 in goalie minutes, No. 39 in GAA, and No. 5 in shutouts.

Her postseason honors this year include United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team accolades and an All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team selection.

Meanwhile, Jewett possesses a 3.82 GPA as a nursing major, one of Endicott's most popular majors which was recently featured for helping bolster the understaffed nursing profession in the latest edition of Soundings.

The junior forward produced six goals and five assists for 17 points in 22 games played on the year (18 started).

Her five game-winning goals, including the lone tally in Endicott's CCC Championship victory over Western New England on November 4, rank No. 29 nationally among 128 qualified D3 student-athletes.

Jewett garnered United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team honors and All-CCC First Team laurels for her efforts this fall.

To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must be nominated by their head coach and meet the following criteria:

  • Plays for a current United Soccer Coaches College services member
  • Be a junior or above in athletic standing at their current institution
  • Be in their second year at the current institution if a transfer student
  • Have at least a 3.40 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career(s)
  • Play a minimum of 75-percent of games during the season of nomination and be an elite player as supported by playing honors (i.e., All-American, All-Region, Conference Player of the Year)
  • Player meets the highest standards of ethics and sportsmanship as confirmed by the coach on the nomination form

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 13-5-4 overall record and a 4-0-4 mark in league play en route to its first CCC Championship title since 2013.

The Gulls fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against No. 13 nationally ranked Williams College, 2-0.

Endicott's 2023 season featured highlight moments throughout, boasting a conference-leading offense and defense. The 13 wins on the year marked the most since 2017, and the aforementioned defense ranks third all-time in program history with 0.59 goals per game allowed (No. 29 nationally).
