Women's Soccer Sets Program Record With Four United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honorees

2023 UNITED SOCCER COACHES ALL-REGION TEAMS | GULLS' ALL-REGION HISTORY

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's soccer student-athletes Angelina Venditti (East Lyme, Conn.), Callie Neils (Brentwood, N.H.), Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.), and Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.) have all earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region accolades.

Venditti and Neils were named to the NCAA Division Region II First Team, while Caliri and Jewett both represented the Gulls on the Second Team, respectively.

The four All-Region honorees are a new program record for Endicott, surpassing the previous high of three All-Region members that had been set in 2010, 2021, and 2022.

Prior to 2017, the United Soccer Coaches organization was previously named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

FIRST TEAM ALL-REGION

ANGELINA VENDITTI | SR. | D | EAST LYME, CONN.

For the second consecutive season, Venditti has received All-Region honors, as she was also a member of the 2022 All-Region Third Team. This fall, Venditti served as one of Endicott's three captains where she led the 2023 Endicott defense which allowed just 0.59 goals per game, the fewest in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and 29th in NCAA Division III. The East Lyme, Conn. native logged career-highs in starts and appearances this season with a team-leading 22 caps for the Blue and Green. She was one of the focal points on a defense that posted 14 shutouts on the year, the most in the CCC, and 17th in shutout percentage nationally (.636). Venditti also played the full 90 minutes in 16 games this season, providing plenty of consistency for the top team in the conference.

CALLIE NEILS | FR. | M | BRENTWOOD, N.H.

Neils earned her first career United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team honor following a stellar freshman campaign controlling Endicott's midfield. She was a vital component of both the Gulls' offense and defense, constantly making the right decision with her passing and hard-nosed play. She scored one goal and dished out three assists on the season. The freshman appeared in all 22 games on the season, starting 21, and played the full 90 minutes on four occasions. Neils' two assists in her collegiate debut propelled the Gulls to a 4-0 victory over Lasell, setting the tone for Endicott's CCC championship season right out of the gate on day one. She netted her first career goal at Wentworth in a 2-0 conference victory on the road on October 7, 2023. Perhaps her brightest moment on the season was her perfectly played through-ball that set up Jewett's game-winning goal in Endicott's championship win at Western New England on November 4. Neils was only one of two freshmen named to the All-Region II First Team, and just one of seven across all regions in Division III.

SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION

ROSALINA CALIRI | JR. | GK | EAST GREENWICH, R.I.

Caliri's first career all-region nod comes after her stellar 2023 season from the Gulls. She started all 22 games in net for CCC champs, posting a record of 13-5-4 overall and 4-0-4 in CCC play. Caliri led the conference in goals against average (GAA, 0.62), minutes played (1878:51), shutouts (12), shutouts per game (.623), and was second in save percentage (.831). Caliri's 12 shutouts rank first all-time in program history, while her 0.62 goals-against average is also good for third all-time in Endicott's program history (Amy Meuse, 0.24, 2009 | Katie Donnelly, 0.37, 2012). Throughout the season, she was rewarded with CCC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice for her efforts (9/18/23, 10/23/23). Nationally, Caliri ranks eighth in minutes played, 39th in GAA, and fifth in shutouts.

GRACE JEWETT | JR. | F | MILLIS, MASS.

Jewett claimed her first career all-region selection after a season in which she led the Gulls' offense with her team-high five assists, 17 points, and shared the team lead with six goals on the year. She led the conference with her five game-winners this season, one of which was the game-winner in the CCC Championship at Western New England on November 4. Jewett appeared in a career-high 22 games for the Gulls this season, starting 18, and consistently proved to be an integral piece of the Endicott offense which led the CCC with 45 goals scored.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 13-5-4 overall record and a 4-0-4 mark in league play en route to its first CCC Championship title since 2013.

The Gulls fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against No. 13 nationally ranked Williams College, 2-0.

Endicott's 2023 season featured highlight moments throughout, boasting a conference-leading offense and defense. The 13 wins on the year marked the most since 2017, and the aforementioned defense ranks third all-time in program history with 0.59 goals per game allowed.
