Women's Soccer Ties Roger Williams In Defensive Stalemate

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team tied Roger Williams, 0-0, in conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

The Gulls outshot the Hawks 16-4 in the contest, but were unable to sneak a goal past Roger Williams goalkeeper Coco Marelli (Fairfield, Conn.), who compiled six saves on the day.

Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.) and the Gulls' defense recorded their eighth shutout of the season, the most in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).

Caliri turned away one shot on the day, which came at the 89:19 mark to hold the Hawks scoreless.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Caliri currently leads the CCC in save percentage (.864) and goals allowed average (.320).
  • Endicott has yet to allow a goal at Hempstead Stadium this season.
  • Angelina Venditti (East Lyme, Conn.), Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.), Callie Neils (Brentwood, N.H.), and Gillian Magnier (Shelburne, Vt.) each played the full 90 for the Blue and Green.
  • Alexandria Dostie (Essex Junction, Vt.) led the Gulls on offense with two shots on goal.
  • Despite the draw today, the Gulls still lead the Hawks in the all-time series with a record of 17-11-8.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (7-2-1, 2-0-1 CCC) opens up a four-game road slate on Tuesday, as it takes on Salem State at 7 PM. Roger Williams (4-5-3, 1-0-1 CCC) welcomes UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday at 7 PM.
