Salve Regina Edges Women’s Soccer, 1-0

NEWPORT, R.I. – A header goal by Salve Regina junior forward Raine Oesterle (Monroe, Conn.) in the 85th minute proved to be the difference as the Seahawks defeated the Endicott women's soccer team, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Reynolds Field.

Oesterle netted her second goal of the season and first career game-winner off of a corner kick from classmate Erica Manchester (Wakefield, R.I.) at the 84:47 mark of the contest to extend Salve Regina's unbeaten streak to four straight matches (3-0-1).

Sophomore goalkeeper Morgan McBrier (North Kingstown, R.I.) made eight saves in the first half, while freshman goalkeeper Carly Pala (Milford, Conn.) stopped five shots in the second stanza to help preserve the win.

Endicott outshot Salve Regina 18-5, which included an 8-2 margin in the opening 45 minutes of play, and a 10-3 differential in the final half of action.
