Women’s Lacrosse Bests Gordon, 20-2

WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Gordon, 20-2, in conference action on Tuesday evening at the Brigham Athletic Complex.

Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) led all scorers with a hat trick.

Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.), Mia Kaczmarek (South Burlington, Vt.), Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.), Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.), and Emily Typrowicz (Palos Verdes, Calif.)  also contributed two goals apiece in the victory.

Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.), Annabelle Gray (Londonderry, Vt.), Grace McAfee (Marmora, N.J.), Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.), Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.), Maggie Holt (Cumberland Foreside, Maine), and Kelsey Sullivan (Nashville, Tenn.) rounded out the scoring with solo tallies.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) and Payton Quirk (Nahant, Mass.) split time evenly for the Gulls, both stopping one shot each in 30 minutes of action, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 23-12 all-time against Gordon.
  • The Gulls have won nine straight in the series.
  • Endicott used a 12-0 run to begin the contest (1st — 14:24 to 2nd — 9:32).
  • The Gulls have won three games in a row (all conference matchups).
  • Darrah netted her first goal of the season (seventh career).
  • Napolitano dished out three assists on the evening, marking the third straight game she has compiled three or more helpers. 
  • Wendell registered her second career hat trick (career-high for goals is four).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (6-5, 3-0 CCC) hosts Hartford on Saturday, April 6 at 1 PM. This weekend's contest will serve as Senior Day for the program. Gordon (2-8, 0-2 CCC) visits Roger Williams this Saturday at 11 AM.
