BIDDEFORD, ME - Cathy Sharp (Rutland, VT/Rutland) scored five goals, two of which came during a late first half run, as Endicott College defeated the University of New England, 12-6, in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse action Tuesday afternoon.

The victory was the seventh consecutive for the Gulls (7-1, 3-0 CCC). The Nor'easters are 4-4 overall, 1-2 in conference play.

After UNE scored at the 18:12 mark of the first half to draw within one (3-2), Endicott rolled off five straight goals to take an 8-2 lead into halftime. The Gulls held a 27-6 advantage in shots in the frame.

The Nor'easters picked up their play in the second period, outshooting the Gulls 16-14, but could not cut into the six-goal deficit.

Sharp also recorded a team-high three draw controls and now leads Endicott with 29 goals in eight games. Emily Judd (Peabody, MA/Peabody) added a pair of goals to go along with game highs in ground balls (10) and caused turnovers (4). Goalie Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould) only needed to make six saves for Endicott, which travels to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Thursday.

Whitney Blais (Hollis, Maine) notched two goals and an assist for UNE, which visits Roger Williams University on Saturday for a conference match.

Sam Robinson '08 (Loudon, NH) led the Nor'easters in the midfield with team highs in ground balls (6) and draw controls (3), and Amy Williams (Bridgewater, NH) made 19 saves between the pipes in a losing effort.
