MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The No. 15 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team fell to No. 5 Middlebury, 1-0, in non-conference action on Saturday evening at Chip Kenyon '85 Arena.
Middlebury potted the lone goal of the contest at the 16:02 mark of the first period (even strength).
The Panthers held a 23-16 advantage in shots on goal (51-27 total shots), while both teams went 0-for-1 on their respective power play chances.
In goal, Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) made 22 saves in the setback (5-3-0). Moritz has now recorded 20 or more saves in six games this season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Middlebury has not lost at home since January 10, 2023 (No. 3 Plattsburgh, L, 2-1 OT, 6-0-1 overall since then).
- Tenth matchup in the all-time series, which dates back to January 16, 2016.
- Endicott recorded a game-high 16 blocked shots.
- Payton Hansen (Spring City, Pa.) paced both teams with five total.
- Emmerson Hayes (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Gulls with eight faceoff wins.
- Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) nearly found the equalizer at 6:19 of the third off a 3-on-2 rush, but her game-tying bid from the slot was swept away by a Panthers' defender just before the puck crossed the goal line at the right post.

No. 15 Endicott (6-3-0) will play the loser of No. 4 Plattsburgh / No. 9 Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the consolation game of the Panther/Cardinal Classic tomorrow at 2 PM.
No. 5 Middlebury (4-0-0) will play the winner of the aforementioned matchup in the championship game tomorrow at 6 PM.
